Your day is spent developing and supervising a team of Fitness Specialists and Personal Trainers while maintaining your own training clientele. You are directly responsible for sales leadership, achieving fitness department financial revenue growth and budgets. You are the point person for the medical integration aspect of the Center including Post MedCare and other medical referral programs as well as community health education programs and speaking engagements. Your communication style and interpersonal skills are critical to ensure the delivery of superior customer service excellence.

Essential Functions

  • Achieve and surpass all financial and activity targets.
  • Manage and direct department team in selling of all personal training programs and services.
  • Responsible for overseeing that all new center members receive a Healthy Start session.
  • Personally conduct a minimum of 5 Healthy Start sessions weekly.
  • Personally conduct a minimum of 5 personal training sessions weekly (20 hours weekly).
  • Continually recruit and hire effective trainers to required staffing levels.
  • Ensure and enforce compliance of all Company and Department Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provide positive and constructive communication and leadership.
  • Complete monthly goal setting and action plans for each trainer to be reviewed weekly.
  • Ensure health history requirements are satisfied before the member assessments occur.
  • Skillfully manage accountability for behavior, execution and results, applying progressive discipline as warranted.
  • Complete and maintain the monthly Personal Training Planner.
  • Support the training, development and progression of trainers to higher tier levels.
  • Ensure that department payroll is accurately completed on time.
  • Manage fitness service hour scheduling and usage according to budget.
  • Ensure clients are called and confirmed one day prior to their appointments and scheduling conflicts are resolved.
  • Actively participate in weekly regional Fitness Director conference calls and Company meetings.
  • Ensure that the fitness floor areas are maintained in a clean, safe and organized manner.
  • Interact effectively with center management and personnel, ensuring that their departmental needs are supported from the personal training department.



  • Proven track record in personal sales achievement and sales leadership of a team with knowledge of how to identify needs and demonstrate the value proposition in improved health and well being.
  • Minimum of a B.S. in Exercise Science, Management or related field, 5 or more years experience as a Personal Trainer and at least 3 years as Supervisor in an educational, fitness or professional setting.
  • Current certifications held and maintained in CPR/AED and national personal training organization (NSCA, ACSM, NASM), required.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Suite and internet. (Club Ready or similar software, preferred).
